Hi3D reconstructs from photographs at very high resolution and does nothing else — no text prompts, no texturing pipeline, no rendering. These alternatives trade some fidelity for range.
Sculpty is the broader choice: four engines accept photographs, three accept multi-view sets, and all of them also take text prompts, which Hi3D cannot. It then covers texturing, remesh and retopology, photoreal renders, worlds and printing. Say the obvious thing plainly, though — nothing in Sculpty reconstructs at Hi3D's 1536³ resolution, so if faithful capture at maximum detail is the deliverable, stay where you are.
Four image engines plus text and multi-view input, and the tools to actually finish a reconstruction: remesh, retexture, render and print.
Sculpty vs Hi3D, side by side →
Try Sculpty free →Premium PBR image-to-3D with explicit topology control — a more usable mesh than a dense high-resolution reconstruction, if less faithful.
About Rodin →Microsoft's research model reconstructs differently, so it succeeds on some images the commercial engines struggle with. Also inside Sculpty.
About TRELLIS 2 →Open-weight reconstruction in under a second, with point-cloud conditioning for real editing control.
About SPAR3D →If the subject is a real object, proper scanning with LiDAR beats photo reconstruction on geometry you can trust.
About Polycam →Fast, textured image-to-3D with the widest native export coverage and rigging.

Not in this list. Its 1536³ reconstruction is the highest here — the trade is that it needs photographs and offers no text input or downstream tooling.
