Free online tool

Inspect FBX files without Autodesk.

Drop a .fbx file below to open it without installing Autodesk software, Unity or Blender. The viewer parses FBX locally in your browser, so you can quickly check a rig-heavy game asset or a marketplace download in seconds.

Why this tool

Free, private, in the browser.

No Autodesk install required

FBX normally means heavyweight DCC software. Here the browser's three.js FBX loader does the work in one click.

Local and confidential

Game assets and client models are parsed in the browser and never uploaded to any server.

Binary FBX support

The standard binary .fbx files exported by Blender, Maya, 3ds Max and game marketplaces open directly.

How it works

Three steps, no setup.

01
Drop your FBX

Drag the .fbx into the drop zone, or click to browse your files.

02
Orbit the model

Inspect geometry, proportions and part structure with full 3D navigation.

03
Continue your pipeline

Verified the asset? Import it into your engine — or view your other formats with the free viewers below.

What is an FBX file?

FBX is Autodesk's interchange format and the lingua franca of game development: meshes, rigs, skinned animation, cameras and materials travel between Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Unity and Unreal as .fbx. Because it is a proprietary binary format, opening one usually requires installing a full 3D suite — an online FBX viewer removes that friction for quick checks.

What this viewer shows

The viewer renders the mesh geometry and basic materials of the FBX in its rest pose. Embedded textures load when present; textures referenced as external files cannot be fetched by the browser and fall back to plain materials. For a fully self-contained, web-ready version of an asset, GLB is the better distribution format.

Questions

Answered, plainly.

Do I need Autodesk software to view FBX files?+

No. This viewer opens .fbx directly in the browser using three.js — no Maya, 3ds Max or FBX Review install needed.

Is my FBX uploaded to a server?+

No. The file is read and rendered entirely in your browser, which keeps unreleased assets and client work private.

Why are some textures missing?+

FBX can either embed textures or reference them as external image files. External references cannot be resolved by a browser viewer, so those parts render with a neutral material.

Does it play FBX animations?+

Models display in their rest pose. The tool is built for fast geometry and look checks, not animation playback.
