How to tell which one you need in one question
Does anyone downstream need to change a dimension? If yes, you need CAD, and that means Zoo or a traditional package — a mesh is a frozen surface and editing it to a tolerance is misery. Can I 3D print a Zoo model?+
Yes — it exports STL alongside STEP. But if printing is the only goal and the part is not engineered to tolerances, generating a mesh in Sculpty is usually faster and produces more interesting results.
Can Sculpty output STEP for manufacturing?+
No. Sculpty produces meshes — GLB, STL, OBJ, PLY, glTF, plus FBX, USDZ and 3MF on Meshy generations. For parametric CAD you need a CAD tool.
