Hunyuan3D is Tencent's family of 3D generation models and the most credible open-weight line in the field — self-hostable if you have the GPUs, and strong enough that hosted products build on it. Sculpty runs the 3.1 Rapid variant as its speed option: a text prompt becomes a clean, untextured mesh in about 30 seconds.
Textures hide geometry. When you are exploring shapes — drafting a game asset, blocking out a scene, iterating toward a printable part — an untextured clay render shows silhouette and proportion honestly, and it is the fastest thing to generate. 3D printing ignores textures entirely, so for print workflows the Rapid output is complete as-is: generate, convert GLB to STL with Sculpty's free converter, slice.

Hunyuan3D does not publish a self-serve price. Sculpty's plans as of 2026-07-26.
Every engine answers the same prompt box. When one misreads what you asked for, switching costs a dropdown instead of another subscription.
The weights are openly published, so you can run it yourself at no licence cost — but you supply the GPUs and the engineering. Using it through Sculpty costs credits and requires nothing to set up.
By design. Sculpty runs the 3.1 Rapid preset, which skips texturing to hit ~30-second generations. Send the mesh to the AI texturing studio afterwards, or pick Meshy or Rodin when you want textures immediately.

Hunyuan3D runs natively inside Sculpty — no separate account, no API key. Generate, texture, remesh and render in one place.
